Since March, the Anáhuac Cancun University football team began training in different venues such as beaches, sports fields and parks in Cancun with groups of selected players, keeping as a first objective the health care of students and coaches who make up the team.
The training sessions have been conducted in person and virtually, focused on improving the offensive and defensive system of the team and analyzing the plays for the 2021 season.
Last Thursday, September 2, the offensive and defensive groups returned to the University field, in separate groups respectively, to begin high performance training.
With a total of 63 players, the Leones Anáhuac Cancún FBA team is preparing to maintain the championship this year, however, 40% of the players have not been able to participate in the university category, which is why the sports scholarship program was increased to the master's level.
Physical preparation is the main focus of the team, seeking that in the first game the Leones de la Anáhuac Cancún FBA position their entrance to the season.
The team follows its program according to the training schedule by increasing the hours and days of physical preparation, thus adapting to the new training modality inside and outside the University.
For this season, the American team expects to be on the courts by mid-October or early November, as long as the state's epidemiological traffic light allows outdoor activities to take place.
