Anáhuac Cancun University participated with a delegation of young students from the international campus in the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). This event is a forum for the travel and tourism industry and is formed by members of this business community worldwide and works with governments to raise awareness about the travel and tourism industry. This forum represents the private sector worldwide in all components of the travel and tourism industry. Its activities include: researching the economic and social impact of the industry and organizing global and regional meetings focused on the sector's development.

The 2022 Global Summit in Saudi Arabia, held from November 28 to December 1, featured leaders of the world's most extensive travel and tourism companies. This year's meeting had the theme "Traveling for a Better Future" and focused on analyzing the sector's value for the global economy, the planet, and communities worldwide.

The delegation of students from Anáhuac Cancun University had the opportunity to listen to presentations from tourism industry leaders such as Arnold Donald, Vice Chairman of the Board of Carnival Corporation and Chairman of the WTTC; Anthony Capuano, CEO of Marriott International; Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai International Airports; Christopher Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton; Matthew Upchurch, President and CEO of Virtuoso; and the presence of Gloria Guevara, former Secretary of Federal Tourism of Mexico.

Within the framework of this world-class event, Miss Alejandra Gutiérrez Rocha, Director of the International School of Gastronomy, led the Anáhuac Cancun University delegation. She spoke of the importance that international campus students have the opportunity to listen to the world leader's experiences. In addition, to be able to live with them and catch up on new trends in the industry across the world. In particular, the work of Gloria Guevara, who has promoted Mexican tourism. It now does so for Saudi Arabia, as she has been appointed Chief Special Advisor to the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia since 2021.

It is important to note that a youth forum was held in this edition. Participants from 6 of the best universities in countries such as Kenya, Spain, the United States, Mexico, and England were invited. Among the invited institutions were Harvard and the Anáhuac Cancun University.

"Anáhuac Cancun University participated with 20 students from the next degrees: International Tourism, International Hotel Management, Gastronomy, Environmental Engineering, and Social Responsibility and Sustainability. They also networked with their peers from other institutions," said Ms. Alejandra Gutierrez.

In this way, Anáhuac Cancun University continues to bring its students closer to critical tourism forums for the private sector and governments of the world. Furthermore, they designed together the future of tourism and included our leaders of positive action in this task.
