What is the USMLE® and why is it important?

The USMLE® (United States Medical Licensing Examination) is a three-step examination for medical licensure in the US. Our program prepares you for Step 1 (Basic Sciences) and Step 2 CK (Clinical Knowledge), which are requirements for ECFMG Certification and applying for residency in the USA.

Is the program 100% in English?

The program is bilingual. Years one and two include basic sciences given in English and Spanish. This approach ensures you are culturally aware and capable of practicing medicine in both languages, a highly valued skill globally.

How long is the Medicine & Surgery degree?

 It is a 6-year program (12 semesters). This includes basic sciences (years 1-2), clinical sciences (years 3-4), a mandatory Internship year (year 5), and a Social Service year (year 6) required by Mexican law.

What is the Pre-medical course?

It is a 5-week online course offered in English (in February and October). It covers principles of anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, and math to ensure you have the optimal competencies before starting the full program.

Where can I do my clinical rotations?

You have access to the "Anáhuac Universities Network" with hospital centers across Mexico (Cancun, Mexico City, etc.), as well as international options like Jackson Memorial in Miami, Florida, or university hospitals in Madrid and Sevilla, Spain.

What subjects will I study in the Medicine & Surgery program?
