Anáhuac Cancun University wins 8 medals at the Universiade 2022

After two years without holding the National Universiade, the XXIV edition of these games resumed in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, 2022. On this occasion, 133 universities in the country participated, and it took place from May 12 to June 5. Anáhuac Cancun University had outstanding participation, obtaining eight medals. The Anáhuac University Network was the private educational conglomerate with the most medals in the competition.

The eight medals won by the Anáhuac Cancun University athletes can be summarized as follows: 

Bronze medal in Women's Tennis

• The medalist was Jacqueline Manzano, an Entertainment Business Management student, and Marianna Vázquez, a Multimedia Design student. 

Bronze medal in Women's Team Taekwondo

• The team members were Arantxa Caramazana Aguilar, a Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomy student; Naomi Aguilar Gómez, a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Surgeon and Dentist student and Valeria Riquelme Ros, a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation student.

Silver medals in Karate-Do

• The medalists were Zazil Elizabeth Ortiz, a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition student, and María Ximena Magaña, a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology student.

Bronze medal in Karate-Do teams

• The team members were Lesly Jazmín Bautista Cruz, a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting student, and Zazil Elizabeth Ortiz and María Ximena Magaña García.

Individual silver medal in Table Tennis

• Darío Arce Reza, a Bachelor's Degree in International Hotel Management student, was awarded.

Silver medal in men's doubles in Table Tennis

• The team was formed by Darío Arce Reza, a Bachelor's Degree in International Hotel Management student and Jonathan Antonio Tapia Aguirre, a Bachelor 's Degree in International Business student.

Bronze medal in mixed doubles in Table Tennis

• The mixed doubles members were Darío Arce Reza, a Bachelor's Degree in International Hotel Management student and Karina Alejandra Cuellar Talavera, a Biotechnology student.

The National Universiade is an event organized by the National Council for Sports in Education (CONDDE). It is the leading student sports event in Mexico. Public and private universities compete in it; this is the competition that promotes the talent of the future stars of the national sport.

For Anáhuac Cancun University, the success achieved in this edition reflects this institution's interest in promoting sports as a tool for comprehensive training and shows the collaborative effort of our students, coaches, academics, and administrative staff to consistently achieve the goals as a team.
