During the Social Commitment Week, the International School of  Social Responsibility and Sustainability received Saskia Niño de Rivera. President of Reiserta,  who offered to the students her conference "Rebuilding the Social Fabric." The main purpose of this event was  to raise awareness about various issues affecting vulnerable population sectors.

Reinserta is a non-profit organization created to improve security in the country, working with what they call "the Invisible Mexico": Prisons, focused on working with the prison system to respect the rights of women and children born and living in prison. They also create and promote reinsertion programs for teenagers offenders and take on the legal defense of unjustly imprisoned people.

In this conference, Saskia Niño de Rivera spoke about how her convictions led her to defend the rights of women and children in their majority, being of particular interest to her due to the constant abuses in the prison system. Saskia also spoke about the importance of civil society organizations and social mobilization as the most feasible way to make structural changes in this country. She asked the students to be aware and not ignore that these issues exist.

Regarding violence against women, she added a drastic statistic that shows the actual situation in Mexico showing that 11 women die every day in the country due to aggression; and about crimes in general, 94% of them are non-reported and 6% of this that reach the authorities' records are intra-family aggression. At the same time, these are the least solved.

Finally, she pointed out that in Mexico, 6 out of 10 girls have suffered sexual violence, an alarming fact, so she ended her talk, making it clear to the young people that the real change is made collectively and begins with each one of them.

In this way, Anáhuac Cancun University reaffirms its conviction in providing forums for leaders of positive action, proactive leaders who ensure humanism and, as in this case, are responsible for delivering solutions to sensitive issues such as the violation of human rights and violence against children and women.
